(Psst… It’s Not White)
Did someone forget to tell your two-year old that sticky hands and white walls don’t mix? Or maybe you just like your home to look fresh, airy, and clean? Either way, you probably know the pain of scrubbing your white walls every couple of weeks because they just can’t seem to stay clean! Fear no more, I’ve looked through countless colors and found three interior paint colors that will help keep your home looking bright and beautiful while seriously cutting down on your wall washing.
#1: Light French Gray (SW 0055)
This beautiful, cool tone gray is the perfect substitution for white if you’re wanting to make a small space appear bigger. While still light and neutral, it’s better at hiding dirt and dust than a white or cream. Some grays can make a room look dull, but the slightly blue undertones of Light French Gray help bring a room to life.
#2: Angora (SW 6036)
This softened purple color from Sherwin Williams is pretty underrated if you ask me. It gives a nice hint of color without being too in your face, but it’s also colorful enough to not be boring. While not a very well-known color, Angora is the perfect balance of warm and soft that will bring a room from flat to fabulous.
#3: Sea Salt (SW 6204)
The last color on my list is for the nature folks. Those of you who like to decorate your house with greenery and natural wood, Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams is the color for you! Although green can be a very loud color, this muted shade doesn’t steal the show but remains as a gentle background for a fresh space.
The color white is an easy color to choose, it’s the ultimate neutral so it goes with everything and it’s never out of stock. However, everything easy in life comes at a price and the price of white walls is a lot of cleaning and scrubbing. Whether you chose to paint your walls white because of the aesthetic, or because you want everything to look fresh and bright, just know there are other interior paint color options that can help save your hands and your time.
